Frequently Asked Questions

How do I send a contract?

Tap the "+" button on the Contracts page. Fill in your client's name and email, pick services, add the event date, and tap "Send for Signature". Your client gets an email with a secure link — no account needed.

Are signed contracts legally binding?

Yes. Settled signatures comply with the U.S. ESIGN Act and UETA. Every signed contract includes a full audit trail: signer email, IP address, timestamp, user agent, and a SHA-256 document hash.

How do I upgrade to Pro or Studio?

Sign in to settledapp.work in a web browser and go to Settings → Plan & Billing. We don't process subscription changes inside the mobile app.

How do I cancel my subscription?

Sign in on the web, go to Settings → Plan & Billing → Manage Billing. You'll be taken to the Stripe portal where you can cancel, switch plans, or update your payment method. You keep Pro/Studio features until the end of your billing period.

Can I delete a contract?

Yes. Open the contract, tap the trash icon, and confirm. Signed contracts are flagged with an additional warning because deleting them removes the legal record from your account.

What happens to my data if I close my account?

Email us at hello@settledapp.work and we'll delete your account and associated contract data. Signed contracts may be retained in anonymized form to comply with audit requirements — details in our Privacy Policy.

I'm not receiving emails from Settled.

Check your spam folder first. If emails from contracts@settledapp.work are being filtered, add us to your allow list. Gmail users: look under the "Promotions" tab. Still nothing? Email us — we can verify delivery on our side.

My client can't sign the contract — link says expired.

Signing links expire after 7 days. Open the contract, tap "Resend for Signature" to generate a new link and email. The client will receive a fresh invitation.

I forgot my password.

On the login screen, use "Continue with email" (magic link) or "Continue with Google/Apple". Magic link sign-in bypasses passwords entirely — no reset needed.

Is my data secure?

We use industry-standard security including TLS/HTTPS for all connections, row-level access controls in our database (vendors can only see their own data), and a full third-party security audit was performed in April 2026. See the Privacy Policy for details on how we handle your information.
